We are so excited to announce that the 'My Cultural Style' exhibition, supported by 'The Mall, Wood Green' is now up for all to enjoy.
This free exhibition in the heart of North London shares the stories of the 'My Cultural Style' campaign participants and how they helped inspire international participation in the London-birthed Cultural Style Week movement.
The multifaceted display includes personal testimonials of participants and brand ambassadors, alongside a stunning display of their cultural expressions through fashion and personal style. The reverse side features breathtaking photography taken at London’s renowned Royal Exchange at the Cultural Style Week launch event on 21 May 2022.
The momentous day saw the grey steps of the Royal Exchange vibrantly decorated by the beautiful and cultural attire worn by launch event attendees from across the UK and overseas. Their images were beautifully captured by multi-award-winning British photojournalist Hazel Thompson, and highly sought-after creative and visual artist Emmanuel Hammond.
“Our installation communicates the many facets of diversity and inclusivity, with the photos showing the many faces, patterns and textures of cultural style. The testimonials help demonstrate how culture and its expression can be relevant to anyone. Our cultural representatives include students, authors, dancers, media personalities, fashion designers and even circus gymnasts”. Candy-Ellie Graham, Curator and Cultural Style Week founder
The Mall in Wood Green is in the London borough of Haringey, which is one of the top five most ethnically diverse boroughs in the UK. The Mall attracts patrons and shoppers from all walks of life.
