We are absolutely delighted to announce the pending launch event for Cultural Style Week in South Africa hosted by our South African brand ambassador Sinako Nyombolo.
The Cultural Style Week movement is a visual celebration of cultural diversity.
From 21-27 May, people from around the world can take part by proudly wearing their heritage and sharing their pictures on social media, using the tag #culturalstyleweek.
Since our spectacular London launch in May 2022, we have grown from strength to strength and the festival of in-person events and activities for 2023 is already international. We recently announced the pending launch event in The Netherlands on Saturday 20 May and are excited to be able to bring the launch of Cultural Style Week to Cape Town in South Africa on the Friday 19 May 2023.
This event has been made possible due to support from Artscape Theatre Centre and The City of Cape Town Arts and Culture Branch in South Africa. The event is being delivered in partnership with the Idwala Lethu Foundation, LLTraditions and Black Management Forum.
The event will take place at the prestigious Artscape Theatre Centre in Cape Town and will be hosted by our very own Sinako Nyombolo, currently in her second term with us as South African ambassador for Cultural Style Week.
"It brings me great joy to be able to bring the magic of Cultural Style Week to South Africa. I see this as a growing movement that will help many people connect and/or reconnect with their heritage. I am happy to be a part of this and look forward to the launch event." Sinako Nyombolo South African ambassador for Cultural Style Week
Last year Sinako Nyombolo showed off her traditional Xhosa clothing and through her Cultural Style Week participation, she shared the beauty of her South Africa heritage with people across the world. As one of the founders of the Idwala Lethu Foundation, she performs valuable community work by creating opportunities for youth at risk in the impoverished community of Dunoon through mentorship, advocacy, feeding schemes, tutoring, bursaries and leadership programmes. We are very happy that she will once again add her natural grace and charm to Cultural Style Week.
